  • To avoid any redness or swelling, do this a day before. If doing it the same day then prefer doing it in the morning time as this way the puffiness and the redness caused has a chance to subside before you apply any makeup.
  • Brush your brows in a natural shape with the help of eyebrow brush or a toothbrush.
  • Don 't over-pluck your eyebrows and don 't pluck above the eyebrows, as it will look strange.
  • Use a good quality and sharp tweezer otherwise the hair will break instead of being pulled out and this may cause an infection.
  • Pull one hair at a time, gripping it firmly and pull it out in the direction in which it grows.
  • Try to pluck your eyebrows little at a time so as to avoid any swelling or pain.
  • Numb the skin with a teething gel before you start plucking, as it will not hurt much.
  • Before plucking, soften your eyebrows with a shaving cream or hair conditioner.
  • Take a warm cloth soaked in hot water and lay it on your brows for 2-3 minutes before plucking as this helps in opening the pores and thus make the plucking easy.
  • The area between the brows is less sensitive, hence pluck the stray hairs from this region first as it will cause less pain.
  • Start plucking from underneath the eyebrow, working from the inside, by the nose, to the outside.
  • Now check your eyebrow balance in the mirror.
  • Apply warm petroleum jelly to your brows after plucking so as to get relieve from any skin irritation.
